Beyond the ten classical planets, a chart is anchored by a few other points worth reading.

Ascendant (ASC) — the sign rising on the eastern horizon at your birth. It shapes your outward manner and how you meet the world. On the wheel, the horizontal axis is the Ascendant / Descendant axis.

Midheaven (MC) — the highest point in the sky at your birth. It points to your vocation and public self. On the wheel, the vertical axis is the MC / IC axis.

Chiron — a small body that moves between Saturn and Uranus, read as a sign of where you teach what you've learned the long way.

North Node — not a body but a mathematical point of the Moon's orbit. It marks the direction of growth in this life.

Aspects are the angles between two planets — the geometric relationships that shape how those planets talk to each other in your chart. A conjunction fuses them; an opposition sets them at odds; a trine lets them flow.

We sort them here by strength. Tight orbs come first — the closer the angle, the louder the aspect sings. From there, aspect type, planets involved, and the angles they touch all shape the order.

Houses are the twelve areas of life your planets move through — relationships, work, home, identity, and so on. A planet in a house tells you where its energy plays out. These four angular houses — self, home, partnerships, vocation — are the load-bearing corners of the chart.

A chart pattern is a meaningful geometric shape formed by three or more planets connected by aspects. These configurations are read as unified dynamics rather than individual aspects.

We split patterns into two views. Classic includes the shapes established in modern astrology — T-Squares, Grand Trines, and more. Extended adds geometric configurations that carry meaning beyond traditional astrology: closed shapes formed by any combination of aspects.

Your chart signature is the set of high-level patterns that shape your chart's overall character — things that aren't specific placements, but qualities of the chart as a whole.

We look at your elemental and modal balance (how your inner planets distribute across fire/earth/air/water and cardinal/fixed/mutable), your chart's overall shape (how planets cluster on the wheel), and a handful of structural observations (retrogrades, mutual receptions, dominant aspects, chart rulers).

These won't all apply to every chart — we show only what's meaningful in yours.
